ECOCERT is a European certification body founded in 1991 — one of the first organizations in the world to develop standards for organic cosmetics. It is not a badge you buy or a label you print. It is an independent audit process that verifies every ingredient, every formula, every production facility, and every piece of packaging.
ECOCERT certification operates under the COSMOS standard — the global benchmark for organic and natural cosmetics, recognized across Europe, Asia, and increasingly the United States. To earn it, a brand must meet strict thresholds at every stage of the product lifecycle. And to keep it, they must pass the audit again every year.
ECOCERT certification is not a badge earned once and displayed forever. Every year, ECOCERT inspectors review JOIK's ingredient sourcing, formulations, production facility, and packaging. Every product must re-qualify. There is no grandfathering. No exceptions.
All raw materials are verified for organic origin and ethical sourcing. Synthetic pesticides, GMOs, and petrochemicals are banned. Every ingredient is traced back to its source and documented.
